A Little Personal History:

Here’s the tomato based meat sauce I came up with for pasta dishes. What’s fun is it’s a great example on how base sauces can be used as a foundation to build on top of (in this case, my tomato sauce > tomato based meat sauce > other stuff you want to add for a great dish – meat based pasta dishes, sloppy joes, chili, etc.)

Advanced Preparation:

  • Everything can be prepared in advance and frozen till needed.

Tips, Notes, and Variations:

  • For a meat sauce with additional vegetables, chop or slice and add 1 cup of veggies, to Step 1. For example, if you want to add mushrooms, slice 1 cup worth and add. If two veggies are to be added, chopped/sliced ½ cup of each.
