A Little Personal History:

Spending a rainy afternoon making some of my homemade Worcestershire, ketchup, and chili sauce, it occurred to me, why not add a few more ingredients for some shrimp cocktail sauce. The rest is history. If you’re short on time or rather just the “standard fare” version, I’ve included one in “Tips, Notes and Variations” below 🙂

Description:

The classic sauce for shrimp/seafood cocktail and oysters on the half shell.

Procedure:

  1. In medium bowl, combine all ingredients and blend thoroughly.
  2. Store in tightly sealed jar.
  3. Refrigerate overnight to allow ingredients marry together.

  • This sauce is intended to be prepared in advance and refrigerated till needed.

Tips, Notes and Variations:

While my recipe is “top shelf” IMHO, here’s an easy to prep “generic” 4 ingredient version:

  • 2 teaspoons horseradish (adjust to taste)
